Computer based Mock Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

Due to unavoidable reasons, the computer based Mock CPT scheduled for 26th November 2011 has been called off. The examination fee paid by the students will be refunded shortly. Inconvenience caused is regretted.

However, it is clarified that Paper Pencil mode CPT exam of 18th December 2011 will be held, as scheduled.

IGNOU Extends Last Date to Apply for PGDHIVM / PDCDM 2011 Admission

The last date of application submission has been extended for PG Diploma in HIV Medicine (PGDHIVM) & Post Doctoral Certificate in Dialysis Medicine (PDCDM) course at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, to be offered in the upcoming session 2011.

Presently, the IGNOU has extended the last date up to September 26, 2011. Interested candidates can download the application from the University’s official website: http://www.ignou.ac.in/. Thereafter, the duly filled application form must be submitted along with the essential requisites on or before the last date mentioned.

However, the sponsored candidates are requested to send the consent of the sponsoring agency to the IGNOU along with their application form. In addition, candidates are requested to contact to the directorsohs@ignou.ac.in for further clarification.

IGNOU Last Date of Application Closes Tomorrow

New Delhi: The last date of application for admission into Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, for July 2011 session, with late fee of Rs 200, will close tomorrow i.e. on August 31, 2011.

IGNOU conducts round the year admissions for two sessions: July and January. Those admitted in the July 2011 session are eligible to give exams in June 2012. However, those enrolling for January 2012 session would be eligible to give exams in December 2012.

Interested candidates can obtain the form available in all the regional centers of the university as well as at the university headquarters in Maidan Garhi. The submission of forms for all the distant learning programmes has been decentralized to the regional centers. Students are required to submit the DD (Demand Draft) with the requisite programme fee with Rs 200 as late fee in cash.

SBI PO Recruitment 2011 Online Registration Begins Today

Mumbai: The online registration for the posts of Probationary Officers (PO) at State Bank of India (SBI) will begin tomorrow i.e. May 18, 2011. SBI, Mumbai, has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates to apply for the PO post. Interested candidates can register online by logging on to the SBI’s official website: http://www.statebankofindia.com/.

The online registration will commence from May 18, 2011. The last date for applying online closes on June 9, 2011. To apply for the PO post candidate must have a valid email ID and should submit the Application Fee & Postage of Rs 500 (whereas for SC/ST/PWD category only Postage of Rs 50 is to be paid) through Bank Challan (challan can be downloaded from the bank’s website).

The selection of the suitable candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in the written test, which is scheduled to be held on July 24, 2011 (Sunday). IIT-B Student Receives Global Award

Mumbai: Rajendra Shende, an Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay (IIT-Bombay) student, is the first Indian to receive the prestigious Roy Family Award. Currently, Shende is the head of OzonAction of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). The winning project was selected from amongst a group of highly qualified projects nominated across the world that undertake tough environmental problems which ranges from sustainable mining to responsible land stewardship.

The award was presented by Harvard University’s John F Kennedy School of Government. As per sources, the award is given every two years to a project of public-private partnership, which improves and protects the environment through inventive approaches. The project namely “Refrigerants, Naturally!” by Shende along with the Greenpeace includes powerful multinationals, such as Coca Cola, Unilever and McDonalds.

The project by Shinde aims to abolish the environmentally-harmful fluorinated gases such as CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs with natural refrigerants in their commercial refrigeration installations and make them energy competent. Besides, the natural refrigerants employed are environment friendly gases that exist naturally in the biosphere, i.e. ammonia, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons.

Furthermore, Shinde has said that the public private partnerships are fundamental instruments to attain the Millennium Development Goals agreed by all the countries in the year 2000. He said that he and his colleagues in UNEP are proud with this project. He added that they will continue to help and contribute in a tangible way to achieve the UN’s Millennium Development Goal of Environmental Sustainability.
